Selling a Dream

“Selling a Dream” came from late-night, half-asleep conversations where you say what’s really in your head. Lines like ‘I told you while you sleep, I missed you in my bed’ and 'praying to the sun and moon' came straight from that space. It’s about opening yourself up, letting people see what you could be, and not knowing how they’ll take it. The song lives between vulnerability and performance, yet believing anyway.

Lyrics

Baby today, we can say what’s in our heads

I told you while you sleep, I missed you in my bed

I prayed all day and night and to the sun and moon

To stay inside you now all through the afternoon

Letting them see, what we can be

Holding them close, entertaining

Everyone’s free, choice of the day

Fly them away. What will they say

Selling a dream, get a piece of me

Selling a dream, get a piece…. of me

Ready today, we can play until we’re dead

You told me while you weep, don’t worry what they said

You’d stay awake and fight, if not for all the cool

Calm and collected appetite made for the fools

Letting them see, what we can be

Holding them close, entertaining

Everyone’s free, choice of the day

Fly them away. What will they say

Selling a dream, get a piece of me

Selling a dream, get a piece…. of me

Letting them see, what we can be

Holding them close, entertaining

Everyone’s free, choice of the day

Fly them away. What will they say

Selling a dream, get a piece of me

Selling a dream, get a piece…. of me

Selling a dream, get a piece of me

Selling a dream, get a piece

Selling a dream with your arms wide open

Making a scene till our days are over

Selling a dream

Selling a dream

Selling a dream
